We’ve had another electric vehicle in the workshop recently — a Nissan Leaf — and we’ve captured a few behind-the-scenes photos while the work was being carried out.
EVs are becoming a more common sight on UK roads every year, and the Nissan Leaf remains one of the most popular electric cars out there. Like any vehicle, though, it still needs the right diagnostics, safe working practices, and proper repair procedures when something isn’t quite right.
EV repairs: the same attention to detail, with extra safety steps
While many parts of an EV are familiar (brakes, suspension, tyres, steering, lighting, cabin filters and more), electric vehicles also bring additional systems that require specialist knowledge and careful handling.
When an EV comes into the workshop, our approach is always:
- Confirm the customer’s concern and gather symptoms
- Carry out structured diagnostics (not guesswork)
- Follow safe isolation procedures where required
- Complete the repair to manufacturer-correct standards
- Road test/check operation and confirm everything is working as it should
Why photos matter (and what they show)
We’re sharing these images because they give a genuine look at the process — the kind of work that often happens “out of sight” once a car goes into the workshop.
Depending on the job, EV repairs can involve anything from fault-finding and electrical testing through to mechanical repairs that are common across all vehicles. Either way, the goal is the same: get the car back to the customer running safely, reliably, and with confidence.
